Aaron Gatton, for many years a resident of Bellville, succumbed to the infirmities of age Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock, death occurring at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sadie Grice.  The deceased was 77 years of age, and his death was the climax of an illness of 16 years.

Mr. Batton was born near Butler, and had lived practically all his life in and around Bellville.  He was very widely known and respected.  For fourteen years past he had been a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church.  He is survived by two sons, Patterson Gatton of Mansfield and James Gatton of Canton;  two daughters, Mrs. Grice and Miss Nannie Gatton, of Bellville, and six grandchildren.  The funeral services will be held Friday morning at ten o'clock from the home, and will be presided over by Rev. J.R. Frye, of the Evangelical Church.  Interment will be made here.
